Our services include:

  • Providing specialist housing advice at Hopscotch Asian Women's Centre in Somerstown
  • Managing and participating in the Duty Representation Scheme at the Central London County Court
  • Supporting less specialist agencies
  • Training and advocacy
  • We may set up advice surgeries at other community Centres as the need is identified

The overall aim of the unit is to provide a service that goes towards maintaining affordable and secure housing in a good state of repair.

The unit operates on the complementary strands of development work, case work and policy work.

The unit is the lead agency for and participates in the Duty Representation Scheme at the Central London County Court providing representation to un-represented tenants on possession action days. The aim of the scheme is to prevent evictions and homelessness.

The Housing unit participates in the housing debate at both national and local level, working with groups and organisations that can further the issues raised by its day to day case work and development work.
